Company History
Ward Schwindt purchased the ‘Floradale Chopping Mill’ in 1962, and started what would be known as ‘Floradale Feed Mill Limited’.
Ward guided it along a path of steady growth. His son, Craig Schwindt, joined the company in the mid-seventies.
The Poultry and Livestock industries witnessed many changes over the decades. The team at Floradale worked relentlessly and became a respected and innovative feed supplier in Ontario. Investing in state-of-the-art technology and meeting the demands of our ever-changing industry.
Since the early 1980’s, Floradale Feed Mill has been actively involved in swine production. Floradale oversees a sow farm (RocDale) that produces early wean piglets with a high health status. These piglets eventually move off-site, to contracted nursery and finisher barns located across Southwestern Ontario. This network of contracted growers is known as the Professional Pork Alliance (PPA).
In 2005, Agri-Marche bought a feedmill, which at the time was known as BWS feeds. Agri-Marche changed the name to Performance Feed Ingredients (PFI)Farms Inc.
The legacy of a family-owned, Canadian company was of utmost importance when the family planned to sell. The Brochu Group, a progressive, Canadian, family-owned business, with a rich 100+ year history in the animal agricultural industry, purchased Floradale Feed Mill in 2020.
Today, Floradale Feed Mill Limited is a HACCP-certified, state-of-the-art feed manufacturing facility offering innovative nutrition solutions to the poultry and livestock producers of Ontario. From our family to yours, we look forward to serving you at Floradale Feed Mill Limited.
